H.B. was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama. As a child prodigy in his hometown, he was dubbed “The Boy Wonder” at an early age, with his ability to inspire people with his voice and musical talents.

Inspirations for H.B. include Stevie Wonder, Sam Cook, Luther Vandross, R. Kelly and Usher. However, he is quick to point out that he is inspired by all music, not just R&B. One additional source of inspiration for him is gospel music, including such artists as Fred Hammond, Deitrick Haddon and The Clark Sisters.

In addition to his dynamic voice and mad keyboard skills, H.B. is also song writer and producer.
